Any luck prospecting relocators?  What works best?  I was thinking about doing a “Welcome to the neighborhood” event at the office, letting them meet and mingle with other newcomers.  I need to think of a topic and a way to get them here first.

How are you going to know who they are?

Title companies have that info. Bed the cute receptionist and she will provide you with updated lists… Be nice to her and buy her a Alicia Keys CD and she will continue to give them to you…

Blarm, that sounds a lot better than what I do...buy lists.

To the original post: I don't think I would go to a financial firm's office to meet new people if I just moved, would you?

Yeah - call, welcome, let them know that you can help with their longer term financial goals. Ask what stuff they need to take care of soon. Nod, agree, let them know you can help, and invite them to sit down for 15 min’s & you’ll take care of all of it.

I created a 17 day postcard campaign that I am pounding to the new movers in my area…

still testing it…you might want to combine direct marketing with offline in your face type of stuff.

That's why I was looking for ideas, it seemed like a social at a wirehouse would be as big of a hit as New Coke.
