Hello All,

Any comments about whether or not local or regional home & trade shows are effective methods of marketing a new FA's business? We're into that season. By new I mean in the field under 1 year, a small book and not much yet in the way of a "network" of clients or prospects. Still "slugging it out".

In previous lives I've exhibited, but this industry is new to me. Success at a show was dependent on expertise and relatability to the public. That said,  I'm 40'ish and for the most part, relatable. Just unsure about the ROI for events such as this.   Thanks...

They can be fun. Have a drawing for dinner for 2 or other premium, with the language the’'ll be contacted on the entry form. Call and tell them you have good news, bad news. Bad news they didn’t win the prize but good news is they are runner up and will receive a free financial plan. Great for appointments.

If the cost is not outrageous, the ROI can be very high. One good client will more than pay for the event. Now, if you are shelling out thousands for the event, you might need a few really god clients. But they are a good experience, and get you out of your zone.
