Hey guys.  I'm about to restart my career as a stockbroker after a 6 year hiatus hence my screen name.  I plan on only cold calling and opening accounts over the phone.  Do you guys have any successfull cold call scripts with rebuttals you would like to share?  It's been almost 6 years since I picked up the phone and forgot some of things to say.  Thanks in advance.

I would like to find out more specifically how I would tell the prospect how our firm operates in terms of sending money over.  I wouldn't see my clients at all as I would be prospecting out of my state without ever meeting my prospects.

Go read! Do you need to be spoon fed? If you're this lazy here I would double think about what you're getting into.

Script;  IF I show you how to hedge your account against further loss will you open an account with me?

SHUT UP and wait for answer.

Say it to 40 new people each day.

During the closing process you tell them how your firm operates.

For example:

Mr. Smith we make the process of doing business with us as easy as possible. What we do is this: We take some information from you to open the account, we then place the bonds into your account. At that point they are your bonds, you own them. Overnight a purchase confirmation is generated. You will get three copies of this confirmation. One will be emailed to you tomorrow, one will be sent by regular mail , and one will be sent priority next day UPS.  When you get the UPS package there will be a UPS return envelope. Put your check in the envelope and send it back to us. The bonds must be paid for by X date. Using UPS will get the money to us in time. Now, this is one of the ways we do this. The other is to set up an automatic transfer of funds directly from your bank, which is very simple to do.  Which way would you prefer to go?

As I read this it sounds like more than what i usually say but that's the gist of it. I deal with prospects from all over the country and it's never a problem. Simple -turn key

Guys, let's not get our short and curlies twisted over using the search function. He asked a specific question that i haven't seen answered here before. not that it hasn't come up.

That, and personally, i get a little miffed at people who can come on and say hit the search button, but offer no help. Got a life? On a search one has to read through countless posts to see if any are pertinate. Almost all are not. Plus the usual thread derails etc. Not just here, but on every forum. Most searches are a huge waste of time.

Not to mention, this is a forum. By asking a question, even one that's been asked a hundred times, new people come onto the thread. Maybe someone with a new experience, or someone who can offer a new POV which could benefit everyone.  Still, it's current info where someone didn't have to read 2000 old posts to get an answer.

My way of saying cut the guy a break.

Thank you so much for your response BondGuy.  That's just the response I was looking for!  I'll try to contribute more to the thread as I gain more experience.
