Admin - I think it will take a while to get used to the forum.  But why is it so slow?  Are you using a different server? 
And please don’t say it’s not, because it is crawlin’!

I must admit, I like how there are like 30 posts to a thread page instead of 9. 

I am no longer getting email updates on new posts from threads I have posted in.
 

One thing missing that i liked on the old forum is that when you rolled your mouse over the topic of a thread, you got a popup with a preview of the first sentence or two of the first post. Can we get that back?

This is unpopular, but I think the new forum is growing on me.  Sure I miss the old one, but I do see a lot of potential here.  I’m hoping that there are more features and fixes that they will do as time goes on.
Maybe you guys are just at that age where you have a hard time accepting change.

I have “Adblock Plus” installed on my laptop and don’t get any annoying pop up ads.  All I see is a big blank space to the right of the forum posts.  The forum does load alot slower than the old one and I’m sure adding a shiitpot load of revolving ads in really throws out the anchors.

Seriously, I don’t know if the new forum is sharing a server with Edward Jones Bondnet, but  you might as well send me smoke signals in binary. The lag on this dumpster fire is ridiculous.

PLEEEEEASE start somewhere, and jsut get rid of the ads and the Tags on the right side of the page.  Move the ads to the top, and the Tags to the bottom.  I PROMISE we’ll all click on the ads (  ) if you move them.
That would be a good palce to start.

Make sure the last post topic is fully spelled out so we can see if we want to enter the forum from the start. Not a few letters and then   …
 

The new Roogle sucks. Terribly.
And when you do search for something, you need to be able to link to the post, not sent to the first post of the thread. This is terrible with a multi-page thread. And there is no option to search within a thread.

Also, I liked getting notifications of PMs.

The middle one is probably putting your foot in your mouth.   Last one is probably something like a “who me” innocent angel kind of thing.  First one, just a guess, is probably something like your lips are sealed.  Those are complete guesses on my part.

I do run a forum, and people do block it out.  The mind is already conditioned to do so.  The ads on the old site were alot less intrusive, and worked better.  This is just blah.

If you guys really want to make money, have forum sponsorships by advertisers.   

Can you tell me where the s and p  will be in 1 ,2 and 3 years?

Certainly is dreadful for scanning new posts. It doesn’t show you the specific forum that a post was included under and doesn’t allow you to easily scan.
What’s the point of the new site. Other than the “ignore user” feature - which is terrific - I don’t see any upgrades at all!

ice and I are meeting to talk about it tomorrow.  Stay tuned.  We certainly aren’t looking to make money off of it, but most of us enjoyed the old forum and we just want to bring that back.
