Looking to take my wife on an anniversary trip… Looking at Dominican, Puerto Rico or Mexico… in october…
Any ideas, experiences.
You could do the War tour vacation. Start at the beaches of Normandy, then fly to Vietnam, hop on over to Korea, and hit up Iraq and Afghanistan before heading home.
Wine Country tour in California. (From D.C. or N.Y. and rental car between $1500-$2000)
Sail around the keys (Include lessons for $4000 or less - we went for $3k)
Climb the Matterhorn ($5k - $7k including hotel, guide, food and flight from NY) - a little too cold that time of year.
Scuba in Florida ($1500-$2000) If you wear a wetsuit you’ll be fine.
Las Vegas (Cheap this time a year, more expensive in October - 5 days at the Venetian and flight from NY - $800 - can’t beat it!)
Tahiti - Stay at a hut on the water for $10,000 in Papeete (Flight and everything included)
Antarctica trip ($4000 per cabin, leave from Buenos Aires - flight from Orlando -$500 per person) - two weeks. Ice climbing, seals, etc.
Just some ideas.
Belize - Amazing water but not beaches. Ruins. Jungle. English speaking … LOVED it!
Costa Rica - Great beachs, jungle, awesome wildlife, good food, super friendly people
Mexico - stay the hell away
DR - Amazing beaches, cheap, but it’s more about the resort than the country
For the money, it’s hard to be Hawaii, Belize, or Costa Rica … I’d just call a GREAT travel agent though.
Motel 8, East St Louis, Illinois. It won’t be safe to leave your room so you guys can bang all week !!
October! Striper season on the NE coast!!!
Give her the anniversary she'll never forget, take her surf fishing! You'll stay at the luxurious Belvedere motel in world famous Seaside Park NJ. Among other amenities The Belvedere includes a bathroom on every other floor. Some even have mirrors! You'll gear up at Grumpy's Bait and tackle where Grumpy himself will give the inside scoop to where the bite is on. Then it's 5 days of walking on and off the 12 miles of sugar sand beaches of Island Beach State Park as you stalk your elusive prey in predator mode. Teach the wifey how to cut fresh squid and shuck live clams for bait. Keep the clams cold and you 'll have dinner if you miss the bite. Aruba can wait, but catching your first cow striper in the rough surf, you may never get that chance again! And over there, if you get tired of her, you can always find another willing participant in the room next door. Might not be the most romantic of spots, but every vacation after that will seem like Shangri La. Ron, was your KYC class one of those that the visiting vet got in big trouble for because he rented a people mover for his trainees to visit the east side? I think there was a kid that ended up in the ER with alcohol poisoning that night. Man, did HR have fun with that one. Ah...memories.Motel 8, East St Louis, Illinois. Ours was nothing but a sausage fest in the hotel lobby ! Although a really really hot goodnight in our region got fired for supposedly banging the guy she was getting the assets from. He was booted also. They were caught because he stayed with her at the hotel for PDP.
Motel 8, East St Louis, Illinois. Off topic, but why is this a problem? There is not a reporting relationship to my knowledge. Does it have to do with the goodnight?
Could have been. There was obviously more to the story than that. HR gets a bit touchy when stuff like that happens. They wouldn't be the first couple to have hooked up at a training class and found themselves out the door the next morning. One time we had a RL's daughter get fired for something similar. He was going to GKN her some assets too. Hopefully it wasn't the same event that Ron was talking about. Then there was the one time that a guy got fired because he tried to sleep with his roommate at KYC.

What do they care anyway? I'd say nobody has sued their arse yet on this or they would move onto more pressing issues.

I think they are just being a convervative, "family friendly" brand. They don't want a reputation for having company events becoming debauchery laden orgies.
Looking to take my wife on an anniversary trip… Looking at Dominican, Puerto Rico or Mexico… in october…

I’d start by asking your wife what HER ideal vacation is, and go from there.
Just speaking from experience.
