I love the Hurt Locker.  I’m sure military guys can find a million inaccurate details, but it gives us civilians a great perspective on what life is like over there.  That’s the kind of movie that changes you for a few days.

Not as good as D2 Mighty Ducks though.

  How so?[/quote]

Pretty much every situation.  EOD is usually sitting on their ass back at the FOB - we call them FOBBITS.   Those sophisticated type bombs were not exactly the norm.

The guys leaves at night and sneaks up to the gate... even Delta guys didn't do that.

British mercenaries killing Iraqis for money... garbage.

Also, somebody who took the level of risks that dumbass took would have been shipped stateside a long time ago.

EOD is called in way after the area is secured.  You don't tote those fatasses around with you (To all my EOD homies, you know I got love for you, but you are the DEFINITION of a Fobbit).

Maybe it was an allegory for the American Blackwater mercenaries who were hired to skirt international law and kill Iraqis for money.

Or maybe you read too much fiction.

Why else do we hire mercenaries? cough! “Contractors”?

Do you think they are better "quality" soldiers than our enlisted soldiers?

About 90% of them are former SEALs, SF, CCT, Pararescue, etc.

You hire those "mercenaries" to protect people and assets.  They are a protection detail for civilian assets.

Nonsense.  Paying them big bucks to kill Iraqis is FAR more PLAUSIBLE then protecting assets.

Just in case, the above statement is meant to be read in a sarcastic tone.

Capitalism at its finest. Going indy and hiring yourself back to your former employer at a higher wage. God Bless America!
