I absolutely agree we in North America ( Canada & the U.S ) are absolutely blessed , lucky , fortunate to be where we are. As to the European situation , yes a political issue when you discuss the huge ( legal & illegal ) Muslim population. In fact , I would suggest there is not an issue but a FEAR within Europe on this matter. The reality is that at some point they ( Europeans ) will have to address this dramatic shift and the impact on their nation/s and their socities. From my visits to Europe a growing anger everywhere and no apparent solution to this matter.

That’s cool that you got Europe’s pulse first hand. My question for many Americans, is, "Have you ever visited a developing country? If not, how could you understand the complexities of the socio-political evironment of a post 9/11 world? "

How could you Monday morning qback Bush & Co?   If electd, you'll get to watch Obama transform into a white-haired wise man, real quick.

The guy who was so stunned that he continued to read a goat story to small children after he was told terrorists flew planes into buildings?   Nah.
To clarify, that quote was the last line from the IBD story...not my quote.  To be fair, though, I do believe that Bush gets far more blame that he deserves, much as Bill Clinton got far more credit than he deserved when things were humming.  On man at the top may be able to wield influence, but he is far from being able to run the economy, either for better or for worse.

Indy…you are correct and in fairness to any politican , they are handed a set of circumstances that they in many instances are inherited or beyond their control. To Walkings point…Obama in 4 years very grey and weary looking.

Precisely, Norway. Indy, Bush's legacy will be known in the future, not the present.   Don't think Wya, in his old age will be prancing about like that vain peanut farmer from Plains.   My favorite Bush scene is from that Michael Moore movie, where Bush says, " we'll get the terrorists", and then hits a driver off the first tee.  What as taken cynically as being callous by some is understood as wisdom by others. Show me, don't tell me.

Or very dead because some hard right wing nutjob put a bullet through his skull.  My BOA and I were talking about this possibility today.  I don't find it a great stretch of the imagination to think that as we speak there are more than a few people with big guns and bigger scopes on those guns willing to take out Mr. Obama.  Are Joe Biden and Jimmy Carter related?  They seem to share some similarities.

Spiff …somewhat disconcerting. I may add to the formula some action by the terrorists to attempt to unsettle the West.
What President Bush was told was, “We believe the country has been attacked.  We’re getting the facts and will be back to get you when we have more details.”

It would have been out of line for him to jump up and rush out of that room at that moment.
Suuuuure, lol.   "Hey, we believe your child and wife have been kidnapped. We're getting the facts and will be back to get you when we have more details."   "Ok, yeah, get back to me on that one will ya? I gotta finish putting these trades in"   Now take that and apply it to millions of potential victims. You'd sit there and shrug your shoulders?

It is curious how the despicable Americans continue to think that President Bush is somehow relevant.

Historians, about 100 years from now, will be the judges that matter.  And anybody who is alive today, who is honest, cannot find a thing to fault the President about.

Well, I am honest and I wish he had vetoed most of the crazy spending--I'd much rather fight a war than fund the arts.  The arts should be funded by patrons of the arts, not the government.

Nonsense.  If the guy is even alive he’s living in a cave
somewhere so remote that even our military cannot reach him without
risking more lives than it it worth.

If you were the Commander in Chief would you order him to be killed if
your advisors were telling you that a dozen or more US lives would be
lost in accomplishing it?

I wouldn’t, but then I don’t hate America like so many Americans do.

I have been message boarding for a dozen years and I know one thing.

People who write as if they are morons, are morons.  They write as
if they were a cartoon caricature because it’s not possible to say
they’re an idiot because they’ll simply say they were being cliever.

It’s not.

Is message boarding uh new sport? Ya’ dig?

Here's what I KNOW. People who feel the need to belittle others behind a monitor are cowards who can't say what they want to say in person. Typically daddy issues can be a key issue where a father figure expects too much of his child. Sadly, there was little chance said child would ever amount to anything more than someone who spends his lonely nights behind a monitor belittling people who claims that due to his experience of message board posting, he knows..KNOWS, for a fact, that a fellow message board poster is a moron having no information and basis to go by that assumption.   You do realize anyone can make baseless assumptions on a message board right puts? Sorry your daddy didn't love you. Maybe an Adam Sandler flick is in good order for you.
