In November 2024, a month shortened by the Thanksgiving break, 46 new ETFs were listed in the U.S. This was slightly lower than the monthly average of 60 new listings.

Table 1 summarizes the bond ETFs listed in the U.S. in November. This included the first set of corporate-laddered bond ETFs listed in the United States. These products, such as the iShares iBonds 1-5 Year Corporate Ladder ETF (LDRC), automate the bond laddering exposure for investors using equal weighted exposure to five iBond ETFs.

Equity ETF Listings in November

Table 2 summarizes the equity ETFs listed in the month, with eight of the new products being buffered ETFs. The buffered, or defined outcome, category has now grown to 328 ETFs with billion in assets as of Nov. 30, 2024. The launches also included the unusually named Fundstrat Granny Shots US Large Cap ETF (GRNY), managed by the well-known fund manager Tom Lee. The name refers to an unconventional basketball free throw style, a reference to the fund’s methodology of using a combination of fundamental and quantitative factors.

Multi-Assets ETF Listings in November

The multi-asset category saw the launch of the Atlas America Fund (USAF), advised by well-known economist Dr. Nouriel Roubini. The fund is designed to address challenges such as monetary instability and geopolitical risks. It was one of four multi-asset ETFs listed in November.
