AEI president Christopher DeMuth announced today that Vincent Reinhart , former director of the Federal Reserve Board’s Division of Monetary Affairs, has joined the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research (AEI) as a resident scholar in economic policy studies. Mr. Reinhart will conduct research on monetary policy and exchange rates, global economic outlook and financial markets, international trade, and the U.S. economy. “Vincent Reinhart’s deep knowledge of monetary policy and unique background at the Federal Reserve Board will add tremendously to AEI’s economic policy team. At a time of unusual economic volatility, it will be a particular advantage to have him as a colleague,” said Mr. DeMuth.
Before joining AEI, Reinhart spent more than two decades working on domestic and international aspects of U.S. monetary policy at the Fed. He has held a number of senior positions in the Divisions of Monetary Affairs and International Finance and served for the last six years of his Federal Reserve career as secretary and economist of the Federal Open Market Committee. While at the Fed, Reinhart worked on topics as varied as economic bubbles and the conduct of monetary policy, auctions of U.S. Treasury securities, alternative strategies for monetary policy, and the efficient communication of monetary policy decisions.
Reinhart received a B.S. from Fordham University and an M.A. and M.Phil. from Columbia University.
