Today we’re sharing five key phrases to keep your team’s morale high. Why? There’s much to be gained or lost by our attitudes towards work. If we’re dialed-in, motivated and feeling connected, we work better and our clients can tell. Try using some of these phrases:

  1. I love the way that you handled that.
    Offer praise that’s specific and timely. Saying to someone that they’re doing a great job doesn’t ring as sincere as saying “I love the way you are polite but matter-of-fact.”

  2. I trust your judgement on this one.
    Not only does this phrase let them know you think highly of their reasoning skills, it empowers them to make these types of choices in the future.

  3. Can you give me your thoughts on this?
    Make it a point to solicit other opinions, even if you don’t think you need them. It’s a win-win; people want to feel valued and you’ll make better decisions with the input from multiple perspectives. 

  4. Thanks for speaking up.
    Speaking up, no matter how big or how small the issue, takes courage. For example, if a team member voices an idea of how to improve your service model, embrace it and let them know how much you appreciate their input.

  5. How can I help?
    This simple question not only shows that you’re willing to lend a hand, it shows that you’re in tune with other people’s work-lives. If they’re going through a particularly busy period, take a minute to brainstorm how to distribute the workload.
