United Capital Deepens Its Recruitment Bench

United Capital Financial Advisers has raided three firms, including Raymond James Financial Services, in assembling a new team to help the national RIA aggregator recruit FAs.

Here’s the lineup:

• Jim Zahradnick (right), 45, was named director of recruiting, based at United Capital’s Parker, Colo. office. Zahradnick spent nearly 24 years at Raymond James, most recently as regional director and vice president of business development. His new boss said that while at Raymond James, Zahradnick led a team of five that brought in more than $105 million in historical gross revenue (all the fees and commissions generated by advisors.)

Zahradnick will report to Matt Brinker, senior vice president of partner development and acquisitions.

• Brian Church, 37, was named director of East Coast recruiting, based in Nashville, Tenn. He was last at AXA Advisors, where he was divisional vice president. Previously, he was the national sales and recruiting director for Capital L Group, a hedge fund and RIA acquisitions firm. Church reports to Zahradnick.

• Sheri Smith (right), 42, was named vice president of sales and lead generation, based in San Francisco. Her task is to produce marketing programs to generate leads, and develop client conversion and retention systems.

She previously was executive vice president at Householder Group Financial Advisors, an independent RIA specializing in retirement and estate planning. She answers to Jason Del Col, United Capital’s senior vice president of advisory services.

Headquartered  in Newport Beach, Calif., United Capital has $15 billion in assets under advisement.
