Mariner Wealth Advisors, a Kansas-based registered investment advisor with national ambitions, has expanded its footprint. It said today it has taken a majority interest in Adams Hall Asset Management in Tulsa, Okla., an RIA whose founder and chief executive, Jana Shoulders, ranked 42nd in Registered Rep.’s Top 50 Women RIAs and was profiled in the magazine last fall.
Adams Hall has $1.3 billion in AUM and a staff of 14, Mariner said in a statement. Adams Hall will keep its name and will gradually integrate its systems into Mariner.
Mariner’s growth may pick up speed this year. Last month it said it hired Brian O’Regan, a 20-year hand at Fidelity Investments who worked in sales and relationship management, as its senior vice president for growth and development. Mariner hopes to open offices in Chicago, Omaha, north Texas and Phoenix. The firm has about $2 billion in AUM.
