- Dynasty Financial Partners expanded its network Wednesday with two experienced financial advisors from UBS, where they had $125 million in assets under management. Stuart Conley and Harvey Spira joined Further Lane Wealth Management, one of Dynasty’s 20 partner firms. Conley—who specializes in portfolio management—was previously the senior vice president of investments at UBS. Spira—who works more with families and individuals—was also a senior vice president of investments at UBS and previously served as a managing director at Bear Sterns.
- UBS snagged industry veteran Elaina S. Spilove from Morgan Stanley’s Graystone Consulting on Wednesday. Spilove will join UBS Financial Services in their Princeton, N.J. office and holds over 30 years of experience in financial services.
- Wells Fargo Advisors named two current employees for newly developed client leadership positions. Anne Larson, who was most recently the head of marketing for Wells Fargo Merchant Services, will be the new director of client acquisition. Prior to that, she was with Charles Schwab. Also promoted from within, Erin Rich—who has been with Wells Fargo for over 18 years—will enter a new role as director of client experience.
- Kimball Creek Partners in Bellevue, Wash. joined forces with independent hybrid RIA Washington Wealth Management LLC on Wednesday. Kimball Creek Partners has approximately $220 million in assets under management with a focus on the Northwest region. Although operating under the Washington Wealth Management umbrella, Kimball Creek will keep its name.
- On Tuesday, Wedbush Securities captured a financial advisor with over 30 years of experience, Fritz Frink. Frink will be the new vice president of investments for Wedbush’s Private Client Services Group. Prior to joining Wedbush, Frink was most recently the president of the leading investment management firm in the Pacific Northwest.
- National Financial Partners Corporation promoted their previous senior vice president of M&A, Michael Goldman, to chief operating officer on Monday. In the new role, Goldman will be still responsible for strategic acquisitions and management contract buyouts, but he will also focus on operational initiatives that enhance client services.
- The boutique financial advisory firm, Allegheny Financial Group, appointed Steve Kutlenios to their board of directors last Friday. Kutlenios has worked in financial planning since 1981 and has partnered with Raymond Schutzman and Ralph Boyd, both owners and board members, on projects over the past two years.
- Last week, Janney Montgomery Scott grabbed Morgan Stanley’s David Seigerman for their Bedminster, N.J. office. Seigerman will be the first vice president of investments for the branch. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Seigerman worked for Citigroup. Janney also brought on Steven Sapirstein as vice president/ assistant branch manager for their Boca Raton, Fla., office. Sapierstein joins with over 20 years of experience. He was most recently at Raymond James and previously has worked at Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Painewebber and Merrill Lynch.
- Waddell & Reed lured away six financial advisors last Thursday from places such as Morgan Stanley, LPL and Ameriprise. Joining Waddell & Reed are Carole Lane from MassMutual, J Thaddeus McGaffey from Ameriprise Financial, Michael Peters from Crowell Weedon, Kris Schilperoort from Morgan Stanley, Daniel Trerotola from LPL Financial and Robert Yelenovsky from Morgan Stanley. All together these six new financial advisors bring in $141.4 Million in new assets under management.
