Mike Spangler

Michael S. Spangler is the president of Nationwide Funds Group, the mutual fund business of Nationwide Financial, a Nationwide Insurance company. Spangler was elected to his current role on June 30, 2008 and is based in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining Nationwide, Spangler served as managing director at Morgan Stanley, heading Americas Retail and Intermediary Product Management for four years. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he was president of Touchstone Advisors, Inc. and vice president and director of business operations at Touchstone Investments. Past employment also includes Wachovia Bank, N.A. and Evergreen Investments, where he served as vice president and director of corporate planning and business development.

Spangler earned a bachelor’s degree from Elizabethtown College and a master’s degree in business administration from Lehigh University. He lives with his family in Villanova, Pennsylvania.
