Mark D. Brandenburg is a partner at the law firm of Abrams Davis Mason Long in Atlanta. Abrams Davis is one of the region's premier estate planning and probate administration law firms, and a subscriber of the Trusts & Estates magazine. Abrams Davis attorneys, many of whom were partners in the trust and estates group at Kilpatrick Stockton (now Kilpatrick Townsend), have combined credentials that include LLMs in taxation, a CPA, an ACTEC member, and service in many civic, charitable, and professional organizations.
Mr. Brandenburg's practice focuses primarily on estate planning and administration, which includes advice on the use of wills, revocable living trusts, gifting trusts, lifetime gifting programs and other tools and techniques designed to limit exposure to estate tax and estate litigation. Also, Mr. Brandenburg counsels clients with regard to adult guardianships, tax controversies, and family estate disputes. Lastly, Mr. Brandenburg represents businesses and their owners concerning various aspects of the business, such as structural matters, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and other tax planning.

Mr. Brandenburg earned his J.D. from Emory University in 2005 and his B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1999. At Emory University, Mr. Brandenburg was the recipient of the Emory Moot Court Society's Arthur K. Bolton Best Brief Award. Also, he was initiated to the Order of Emory Advocates, one of seven graduating law students who demonstrated excellence and high honor through the art of advocacy and persuasion.
Prior to joining Abrams Davis in 2014, Mr. Brandenburg was an associate for over four years at an estate planning and business law firm located in a northern suburb of Atlanta, and before that he was the law clerk and staff attorney to the probate judge for nearly five years in one of the most populated counties in Georgia (DeKalb).
Mr. Brandenburg has been recognized as a Rising Star by Georgia Super Lawyers Magazine from 2012-2016, and he will be recognized as a Super Lawyer in the 2019 issue. Mr. Brandenburg is a member of the Fiduciary Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Atlanta Bar Association, and the Atlanta Estate Planning Council. He is admitted to the United States Tax Court, the Supreme Court of Georgia, and the Superior Court of Georgia. Mr. Brandenburg proudly graduated from the Anti-Defamation League Glass Leadership Interest Class in 2016, a nationally recognized leadership development program. Lastly, Mr. Brandenburg has completed Part 1 of the Professional Advisors Excellence Series at the Cox Family Enterprise Center at the Kennesaw State University Coles College of Business.
