Leslie Heffernen
Managing Director of Fiduciary & Legal Services, Pitcairn
As a member of the Fiduciary Services Group, Leslie serves as the Managing Director of Fiduciary and Legal Services. She provides legal and tax expertise on corporate and client matters including compliance, estate planning and the administration of trusts, guardianships, and decedents’ estates. In addition to her law degree, Leslie received her LLM in Tax from Temple University and is a CPA.
Leslie brings over 20 years of dedicated experience to Pitcairn. Prior to joining our firm in 2016, she was the founder and principal of Heffernen Law PC for 14 years. She previously held roles at Butera Beausang Cohen & Brennan, LP and the Internal Revenue Service in Philadelphia.
Leslie is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. In addition, she is a member of the United States Tax Court.
Outside of her professional duties, Leslie is on the board of a Pennsylvania bank, where she serves as Chair of the Audit Committee. She was appointed to Pennsylvania’s Joint State Government Commission Advisory Committee and is a member of the Hispanic Bar Association. She also serves on the Montgomery County Bar Association Audit Committee and the Orphans’ Court Rules Committee. Leslie previously served as president of the Montgomery County Estate Planning Council and the Rotary Club of Ambler. Along with presenting on tax, estate planning, and elder law topics for various organizations, Leslie has also written articles on estate planning.
Outside of the legal and tax universe, Leslie and her husband participate in dozens of charitable runs every year, including Philadelphia’s Broad Street Run.
