Amy K. Kanyuk

Amy concentrates her practice on estate, gift and generation-skipping planning for individuals and families of high net worth.  She has worked extensively in the areas of family business succession planning, asset protection and planned giving.  She holds the highest rating of A-V from Martindale Hubbell, and is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), where she serves on the Fiduciary Income Tax Committee, the New Member Steering Committee, and the Program Committee.  Amy’s term as the New Hampshire state chair for ACTEC commences in March 2014. 

Amy has been selected numerous times by her peers for inclusion in Woodward and White’sBest Lawyers in America, in the fields of tax law and trusts and estates, and as a New Hampshire Super Lawyer.  She also was named by Best Lawyers as the 2011 Concord Trusts and Estates Lawyer of the Year, and as the 2014 Concord Tax Lawyer of the Year.  In a 2010 survey by Business New Hampshire magazine, Amy was selected by her peers as the best tax and trust and estate attorney in New Hampshire. 

Amy’s articles and comments about tax and estate planning have appeared in a number of publications, including Barron’s, the Journal of Accountancy, Trusts and Estates, Estate Planning, Massachusetts Lawyer’s Weekly, the New Hampshire Bar News, and the New Hampshire Business Review.  She is a “Smart Money” columnist for Around Concordmagazine, and frequently lectures before professional and civic groups on tax and estate planning topics.  Amy also has served as an adjunct professor at the University of New Hampshire School of Law, teaching Wills, Trusts and Estates.  She is often retained as an expert witness to provide opinions and testimony in trust and estate litigation. 

Amy serves on the Legislation Committee of the New Hampshire Bar, and is a member of the New Hampshire Estate Planning Council, the New Hampshire Bar Association and the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association.  For many years she served on the Board of Editors of the New Hampshire Bar Journal, and as a member of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s Capital Region Board.  Amy is a member of the New Hampshire Trust Council, and has worked extensively on legislation to improve and modernize New Hampshire’s trust laws, testifying many times before the state legislature in this regard.

Amy received her bachelor of science in finance, with highest distinction, from Penn State University in 1990.  She earned both her law degree and M.B.A. from Boston College in 1994. 

In addition to her legal practice, Amy is a founder and director of Concord Trust Company, LLC, a non-depository trust company located in Concord, New Hampshire.
