The College for Financial Planning has partnered with US SIF: The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment to create a new designation for planners who advise on sustainable, responsible and impact investments.

The new CSRIC is a program of seven modules that cover the foundations and history of SRI, portfolio construction, ESG performance and risk, fiduciary standards and future opportunities. It’s administered through live classes, on-demand video and online material, and testing.

The new designation comes as investment and interest in SRI increases. The space now accounts for over $8.7 trillion, or more than 20 percent of assets under management in the U.S., according to US SIF data.

“The designation is a key way for advisors to demonstrate expertise to clients,” said Lisa Woll, CEO of US SIF. “The take-up of the designation will also create an expectation that financial professionals become educated about sustainable and responsible investing.”
