Raymond James Lands Largest Team in History

Raymond James has attracted the largest team since the firm started in 1962, with $2.4 billion in client assets, to its employee channel. The Americas Group, which has two offices in South Florida, joins from Morgan Stanley.

The team includes advisors Don d’Adesky, W. Kristopher Lemke, Matthew Cicero, Jose Cabrera Sr., Kevin Gourrier and Ryan Weber. The members of the team that were based in Miami will move to Raymond James’ Coral Cables location, while those in Boca Raton will move to the firm’s Boca Raton office.

The team specializes in serving mid-market institutions and high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth retail clients.

“The systems at Raymond James were particularly adept at that mid-market, which is our core business,” d’Adesky said.

D’Adesky, who heads the team’s Boca Raton practice, said they were particularly impressed with eFolio, Raymond James’ online institutional portfolio management system, a monitoring tool for fixed income portfolios. Fixed income accounts for about two-thirds of the group’s business.

D’Adesky, Gourrier and Lemke joined Smith Barney in 2009, just prior to the firm's acquisition by Morgan Stanley. Cabrera joined Smith Barney in 1999, while Cicero spent the last eight years at Morgan Stanley. Weber joined Morgan Stanley's metro New York office in 2004.
