Smart beta and asset allocation manager Research Affiliates is naming a new CEO, according to Pensions & Investments. The firm’s founder, Rob Arnott, will remain chairman of the firm and Katrina Sherrerd is being promoted from COO to president and CEO. The COO position will not be filled.

The title change is a reflection of Sherrerd’s duties over the past 6 years, according to the report.

Arnott will continue his research and portfolio management. His factor-based insights into value investing and emerging markets were highlighted at this year’s Inside ETFs conference.
