Martine Lellis, the former chief operating officer for registered investment advisor Sullivan Bruyette, Speros and Blayney (SBSB), has joined Mercer Advisors as chief talent and business solutions officer. She’ll be the fifth female executive to join the firm’s leadership in the past two years.

Lellis, who has served as a judge for the WealthManagement.com Industry Awards for the past five years, will be based in the RIA’s Denver headquarters and report directly to CEO Dave Welling. She’ll be responsible for the firm’s recruiting, as well as strategic projects aimed at growing the firm.

Lellis had been with SBSB, a Mclean, Va.-based RIA, for over 17 years, where she oversaw operations and compliance programs.

Mercer has been on an acquisition tear the past couple of years. Last month, the firm acquired $230 million Republic Wealth Advisors of Houston, and Adam Financial Associates, a Boca Raton, Fla.-based firm with $190 million in assets.

Mercer, established in 1985, has about $17.5 billion in client assets. With over 390 employees, it operates nationally through 46 offices. The firm is majority-owned by private equity players Oak Hill Capital and Genstar Capital.
