KMS Financial Services, an independent broker/dealer subsidiary of Ladenburg Thalmann, has recruited a $230 million team in Phoenix from IBD Geneos Wealth Management. The Patrick Funke & Associates team specializes in qualified retirement plans. Patrick Funke said he was attracted to KMS’s retirement plan and ERISA capabilities.

The deal is part of KMS’s larger growth initiative. That effort includes the promotion of Erinn Ford, who joined the firm as president in 2018, to chief executive earlier this year.

Other recent additions include Gottier Investments, a Windsor, Conn.-based team with $116 million, which joined from Cetera Advisors, and Aeon Wealth Management, a Sterling, Va.-based team with $139 million, also coming over from Cetera Advisors.
