Summit Trail Advisors, a New York-headquartered registered investment advisor with $18 billion in client assets, has added a team of 10 financial professionals who previously managed $3 billion in assets at BMO Financial Group. The former Key Client Group was with BNP Paribas’ Bank of the West before it was acquired by BMO in 2023.

The group is located in offices across the country and includes David Hultman and Danielle Louton, partners and advisors in San Francisco; Ali Homayounfar, formerly head of the Key Client Group, partner and head of business development in New York; Roberto Homar, advisor and portfolio management specialist in New York; Tony Morel, investment specialist in New York; and Dimitre Ivanov, head of business management and client reporting in Chicago. Partner and advisor Shima Salehi is based in Portland, Ore., and will lead Summit Trail’s expansion in the Pacific Northwest, while Partner and advisor Matthew Marsh will build out the firm’s first Rocky Mountain region office in Denver.

The team is also joined by client services officers Ina Locsin in San Francisco and Tannaz Sanandaj in Los Angeles.

Summit Trail was founded in July 2015 by a group of former Barclays advisors, including founder and Managing Partner Jack Petersen. In June 2015, Stifel agreed to purchase Barclays’ U.S. wealth operations, and many advisors opted to leave rather than join Stifel.
