Cetera Financial Group has hired another former Fidelity executive, naming Jerry Patterson as head of advanced wealth solutions, a newly created position. Patterson, the former president of Fidelity Investments Life Insurance Company, will build out Cetera’s retirement, life insurance and annuities products available to the firm’s advisors.
At Fidelity, Patterson helped the firm’s advisors and RIA network partners incorporate insurance into their practices. Prior to joining Fidelity, he was at Principal Financial Group for two decades. He’ll be based out of Cetera’s Des Moines, Iowa, office.
"Jerry will play a critical role in elevating our insurance solutions and expanding our already successful workplace and retirement offerings, which Jon Anderson continues to lead,” said Adam Antoniades, CEO at Cetera Financial Group.
Anderson currently serves as director of retirement plan solutions.
This follows a series of executive appointments Cetera has made in recent months. Just last week, the firm hired Scott Baker, former president and chairman of the board for Fidelity Personal Trust Company, as head of corporate strategy.
Mike Durbin, CEO of Cetera Holdings, the parent company of Cetera Financial, also came from Fidelity, serving as head of Fidelity Institutional until December 2022. He joined Cetera in May of last year.
Daniel Burkott, former chief compliance officer for Cadaret Grant, joined the firm at the end of May as CCO of Cetera’s tax channel, which includes Cetera Financial Specialists and Avantax.
In May, Cetera also brought on Brian Lampron, former vice president of RIA Services at Commonwealth Financial Network, as managing director of RIA Solutions.
Cetera also added Jon Myczka, a former senior director of digital products at Ally Financial, as managing director of RIA and advisory digital experiences.
Late last year, Logan Galli joined Cetera as head of advisory business consulting. He came from LPL Financial, where he was senior vice president and head of distribution.
Amy Rehn, former senior vice president of the RIA custody platform at Osaic, has been appointed managing director of investment solutions at Cetera.
In April, Cetera announced the appointment of Michael Molnar as head of corporate development from Avantax, the $84 billion, tax-focused wealth management firm it bought last year.
Cetera has more than 12,000 advisors across $213 billion in assets under management and $505 billion in assets under administration.
