Following LPL’s rollout of Strategic Wealth Services last week, the RIA custodian and independent broker/dealer announced the first advisor team to transition through it. Advisors Mike Ashworth, Steve Collie and Katheryn Gordon join LPL’s platform from Wells Fargo Advisors where they managed approximately $300 million in client assets, to launch Ashworth Financial Group.

“Going independent is a big move that ultimately brings more responsibility for me as a business owner,” Ashworth said in a statement.

"It finally felt like the time was right to do something different for my clients going forward," he added. "With the business management support from LPL, I can focus on what I enjoy most, which is managing investments and helping my clients work toward their financial goals and dreams.”

The Tryon, N.C.–based firm will use LPL’s b/d, corporate registered investment advisor and custodial platforms in addition to LPL’s business management support services.
