Wealth is simultaneously more concentrated and more global than ever before, with billionaires the world over amassing huge fortunes.
And, according to The USA Wealth Report, recently published by Henley & Partners in partnership with wealth intelligence firm New World Wealth—which tracks the movements and spending habits of over 150,000 high-net-worth individuals, focusing on those with over $10 million in investable assets or holding titles such as founder, chairperson, president, CEO and director—those billionaires largely reside exactly where you’d expect them to: The U.S. and China. That said, the 20 cities with the most billionaires span 13 unique countries.
The Bay Area, New York and Los Angeles, alongside Shanghai and Beijing make up the top five, with Houston and Shenzen falling just outside the top 10 (Hong Kong is No. 7, but we’re not touching that hornet’s nest). Interestingly, the only other nation besides the U.S. and China to place multiple cities in the top 20 is India, with Mumbai cracking the top 10 and Dehli sneaking in just under the wire at 19.
Here are the top 15 cities with the most billionaires.
