Advisor-focused marketing firm Snappy Kraken is adding three new members to its board of directors, according to an announcement. The executives added are Marty Bicknell, CEO and president of Mariner Wealth Advisors; Thad Langford, general partner at Flyover Capital; and Aaron Klein, CEO of Riskalyze.

Both Bicknell and Flyover Capital have invested in Snappy Kraken, while Klein is expected to bring “fintech knowledge and executive experience” to the board, according to the announcement.

“Advisors have historically struggled to be successful marketers,” said Klein. “I’ve been deeply impressed with Robert’s vision for transforming how they can increase the reach of their advice.” A WealthManagement.com survey conducted earlier this year found that advisors are looking to increase their use of video and social media marketing by year-end. Podcasts, a category that advisors reportedly planned to add to their marketing repertoire in 2019, have seen increased visibility.

For their parts, Bicknell and Langford will be bringing expertise in advisor perspectives and capital insights, respectively, according to the announcement.

“Robert Sofia and his team have changed the game in marketing for financial advisory firms,” said Langford. “They are innovative and nimble, and uniquely positioned to be one of the technology success stories located outside of the traditional tech hubs.”
