Northwestern Mutual is hosting a Women in Tech Conference on Dec. 3. The virtual conference will gather women technologists from companies in the U.S. for a one-day event focused on “professional development, empowerment and collaboration, with the ultimate goal of fostering a more diverse and inclusive tech industry and community,” according to the announcement. The event is free and open to Northwestern Mutual and outside attendees.

"Gender equity is important for our teams, businesses and society to thrive, and with technology at the center of everything we do, it's critical that we close the gender gap in tech careers," said Sangeetha Rai, VP of Northwestern Mutual’s technology customer success, in a statement. It is the first Women in Tech Conference held at the firm.

Keynote speakers include Laila Ali, a former boxer and the daughter of boxer Muhammad Ali, and Nathalie Molina Niño, an author and entrepreneur. Companies such as Zoom, Hilton, Capital One and Major League Baseball are participating, along with organizations like Women Who Code, MKE Tech Hub Coalition, i.c.stars and Lift Up Careers.
