Longtime industry analyst Chris Shutler joins Orion after a stint at Envestnet in a similar role.
Former Envestnet executive and industry analyst Chris Shutler is joining Orion as the firm’s head of strategy.
His duties will include market analysis and determining areas for potential growth through M&A. He will report to Orion CFO Mark Mayo.
“Chris's expertise will help Orion identify new growth opportunities and help ensure that advisors have the insights, tools, and support they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving environment,” Mayo said in a prepared statement.
Shutler spent the last 3 1/2 years in a similar role at competitor Envestnet, where he headed up strategic development and market intelligence efforts.
Previous to Envestnet, Shutler spent almost 14 years at William Blair in various research and analyst roles. For the last 11 of those years, he was an equity analyst covering wealthtech, wealth management and asset management.
