DriveWealth is adding its first dedicated chief technology officer, Minerva Tantoco, according to the firm. Tantoco co-founded digital commercial bank Grasshopper Bank and also worked at Merrill Lynch and UBS. She is also overseeing a development team that aims to bring on more than a dozen new engineers by the end of the year.

“Minerva’s expertise at both an entrepreneurial and institutional level will be an invaluable asset to our team as we expand our API and product capabilities to our growing network of global partners,” said Bob Cortright, founder and CEO of DriveWealth. His firm powers the trading software at Altruist and introduced fractional trading to HSAs.

Tantoco’s responsibilities were previously handled by Ryan Burke, chief product officer at the firm.

“He will now focus on building out and evolving the product pipeline to transform financial services from brokerage to embedded finance,” said Cortright. “Minerva will be fully focused on building a modern cutting edge, scalable brokerage technology infrastructure.”
