The Financial Planning Association is collaborating with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, the certifying body for safety, health and environmental workers, to offer the group’s 3,500 members a 20% discount on their first year of planning fees. About 300 FPA members have signed on to participate.

“As BCSP certificants work to ensure the safety of those within their respective industries, FPA and our participating members are making financial planning services more accessible to help these professionals design plans to ensure their long-term financial planning goals and short-term financial safety considering the challenges we are facing today,” said Lauren Schadle, the CEO and executive director of the FPA.

The discount is limited to financial planning services and does not cover investment management and related services. BCSP members can access the list of participating financial planners and their profiles at www.PlannerSearch.org/BCSP.

The FPA plans to enlist more financial planners to join the effort and also create educational programming around personal finance.
