A Democratically controlled Washington, D.C. is now preparing to put its mark on the federal Tax Code. As part of a much larger infrastructure package, a number of proposed changes, which have become political footballs, and quite possibly footfalls, are coming into sharper focus and may have a significant impact on philanthropic planning.
Charitably minded individuals who are trying to achieve both personal and philanthropic goals, while enjoying maximum benefits from existing tax incentives, may in some cases be challenged to do so in light of upcoming legislation. That said, there could be new opportunities that also arise as a result of changes in the law.
