In a first for this magazine, on July 8, we broke a story of national interest by posting on our website a report entitled “Wealthy Family Sues Famous Lawyer Over Tax Plan.” Sources tell us insurance companies immediately emailed and faxed the T&E article to their agents in the field. Eight days later, The New York Times published a story on the case (“Wealthy Family Is Suing Lawyer Over Tax Plan,” July 16, B1).

The T&E article describes the suit brought in Los Angeles County on June 5 by New York real estate magnate William B. Benenson against Jonathan G.
