Advisor, entrepreneur, and part-time author Ric Edelman is bringing more attention to crypto by building a team of blockchain and cryptoasset enthusiasts called the Advisor Blockchain and Cryptoasset Council (ABCC), to advance the registered investment advisor community's awareness of these technologies. In addition to Edelman, the council includes several well-known advisors and wealthtech leaders, such as Eric Clarke, CEO of Orion Advisor Services; Ian Sheridan, managing director and co-founder of Vestigo Ventures; Catherine Wood, founder and CEO of ARK Invest; and Paul Pagnato, founder and CEO of PagnatoKarp.

"Our goal is to help financial advisors give their clients advice about these disruptive technologies," Edelman said in a statement announcing the formation of the council. "Through ABCC, financial advisors can learn about blockchain and cryptoassets, and be introduced to innovators that offer products and services in this field that are of value to RIAs and their clients."

ABCC will be leading a 36-hour pre-event in conjunction with this year's Barron's Independent Summit, covering concepts like infrastructure, buying and storing cryptoassets, and portfolio tracking. Edelman has an investment in cryptocurrency indexer Bitwise Asset Management.
