Allen & Company of Florida was established in 1932 by J. Everett Allen and George O. Craig as Craig-Allen Company and was located in the Marble Arcade in downtown Lakeland, Florida. In 1938, Everett Allen purchased George Craig's interest , renamed the firm Allen & Company and relocated across the street to 211 East Lemon Street. The firm focused on equities and Florida municipal bonds.
