I resigned from an insurance company after 5 months to pursue a different avenue within the financial services industry. During that period I got my life, accident, health and series 7 licenses.
When I tendered my resignation my manager unprofessionally threatened to "note my file accordingly." I don't know what he meant by this. My question is, can he tarnish my U4 at FINRA by putting derogatory remarks on there? It sounds to me as if he wants to spoil my name in the industry. Is it a crime to resign? What legal recourse do I have if this is the case. Please note I paid for all my licenses out of pocket. Any advice proferred will be much appreciated.
