Convergent Wealth Advisors bolstered its presence in New York and Los Angeles on Wednesday with the addition of a new managing director of strategic relationships. The independently operated affiliate of City National Bank brought onboard Charles (Charlie) Winn, a former Goldman Sachs Private Wealth advisor with more than 20 years of experience. Winn will split his time between Convergent’s New York and Los Angeles offices.
Dynasty Financial Partners brought onboard a founding member of one of its closest competitors on Tuesday. Ed Friedman, formerly the director of advisor development at Hightower Advisors, will now serve as Dynasty’s director of strategic relationships, the firm reported. Wells Fargo Advisors picked up a team of three advisors last Monday for its Woodland Hills, Calif. branch office. Andrew Jacobson, Shawn Hare and Gregory Hoelzel joined the firm with $185 million in client assets and a trailing production of $2.2 million. The team also brings with them financial advisor in training Andrea Koerte, senior registered client associate Maribel Cobian and client associate Rose Tran.
A hybrid office affiliated LPL, Flagship Harbor Advisors, snagged two former Park Avenue Securities advisors last Monday. Matthew Cunningham and Erik Williams—who used The Advisor Center to facilitate the move—transitioned with a combined $450,000 in gross dealer concessions. The duo was previously with the Bulfinch Group, an affiliate of Park Avenue Securities and are based in Hingham, Mass.
Solon, Ohio-based Stratos Wealth Partners added seven advisors with a combined total of $400 million in client assets to its ranks last week, bringing its headcount to 150 advisors in 16 states. A trio of former Heritage Private Wealth—John Turcotte, Kristiana Shipway and Greg Turcotte—joined the hybrid RIA in Birmingham, Mich. In Gulfport, Miss., Charles P. Hewes and Stephen M. Gainey joined from Wells Fargo Advisors. And John Mayeux and David Mayeux, based in in Ville Platte, La., came over from Edward Jones.
A $320 million team broke away from Merrill Lynch wealth management last week, entering a partnership with HighTower. Led by Laurie Kamhi, the all-women team of LCK Wealth Management also includes senior financial analyst Christine Torrey and senior private wealth associate Karman Tong. LCK Wealth is the 41st team to transition to the HighTower partnership, and is based in HighTower’s New York headquarters.
Beverly Hills-based LourdMurray expanded into Louisiana, opening its first office in New Orleans. Peter J. Wright Jr., a former Raymond James advisor, will oversee the new location. Prior to joining LourdMurray, Wright was a senior vice president and branch manager with Raymond James in their Baton Rouge office.
