Comings & Goings: April 2013

Scott Collins, former managing partner and CEO of FirstPoint Partners, has moved to TD Ameritrade Institutional as the firm’s new director of advisor transitions. Collins will lead recruiting and consulting to brokers and advisors considering the hybrid or RIA model.

Raymond James has named Vin Campagnoli as chief information officer. Campagnoli joined the firm in 2011 as senior vice president and head of private client group technology strategy and development. Prior to joining the firm, he was a senior technology leader at UBS Wealth Management Americas.

Convergent Wealth Advisors has hired John Mastal as managing director in charge of advisor recruiting. Mastal came over from Fortigent, where he directed business development strategies, and opened new relationships with advisors and institutions.

Todd Cranford has been appointed the CFP Board’s director of government relations, a new position with the organization. Cranford, who was previously “of counsel” at Patton Boggs LLP in Washington, D.C., will be responsible for advocating for the group before federal and state government bodies. Gail Reisman  has also joined the organization as director of marketing after serving as a vice president of advertising at Brand USA.
