Apparently I have warn out my welcome, on this forum and at EDJ. Here is the breakdown of EJ partnership. Ask your RL to see if he denies. #1 Each rep gets about $25k in LP every three years. #2 Each Rl gets $250,000 of GP for being an RL. #3 each home office GP gets $500,000 in GP. I am sorry scratch gets and sub in buys. The GP’s continue to get the LP offering as well. Other than a potential to a denial. This is my last new topic post.

OK, you are now officially an idiot!  The GPs continue to get the LP offerings as well?  Who told you that?  Was it the voice in your head that also convinced you that you are more intelligent than everyone else.  You really need to stop listening to it, because it lied to you.

Under the basic rules of our partnership a GP cannot be an LP also.  In fact why would he want to?  The GP return is usually more than double what the LP return is.  That's just stupid.

There are three types of partnership at Jones.  GP, LP, and subordinated LP.  When a GP retires or steps down as RL then he or she becomes a subordinated LP.  Can't keep GP for life, only LP or S-LP.

Thanks for the wonderful insight you've been sharing about Jones.  We all really appreciated it.  Hopefully you can now make yourself a reasonably useful part of this forum.  I'm not going to hold my breath.

OK, you’re right and I’m wrong.  Thanks for correcting me.

I believe the GP gets way more than double of LP’s. Check your numbers…I remember when the sh*t hit the fan in early 2004 and we had the area Leader come out during the Spring regional and try to explain the payouts.  He was trying to gloss over the huge amount of money the GP’s drain off the company compared to the LPs. Where all the revenue sharing comes from and where it goes… It was the funniest thing I’ve ever witnessed. He was redfaced the whole time.  I trully thought to myself…if this joker gets out of here alive it will be a miracle. Well, he did, but it wasn’t to long after the exodus started for many to other places.

Spiff, Have you ever met your RL or a GP?

In a General Partnership, the GP cannot get LP.

Family Limited Partnership Trust? Private real estate investment trust? Ask your local RL. If I am lying I’m Dieing.

I've been thinking about Jones alot lately.  I've been thinking about what I read on this site.  I've been thinking about what i've written on this site.  In fact, Ive been thinking about Jones 18 times a day, three days a week, as I play my golf round.  Whenever I get the notion, I go play a quick 3-4 hour round of golf.  Ive been thinking about GP, LP, inherited assets, blah, blah, blah.  I've concluded as my game has broken 100 that I couldn't give a flip less about all that GP, LP crap.   GP would get in the way of my handicap.  LP?  I'm a stock jock.  I make more than LP money with my personal stock trades.   Inherited office?  Too much grief and time consumption from the non-grossing portion of the book.   GP's getting this, that, whatever.  Give em all I damn raise I say.  Just tell them the get the hell outta the way of my fade.....FORE!!!!!!

My damn feet hurt, and they got spikes on three times a week.

Ed Jo,

You crack me up man.  Enjoy the golf, but  I hope your 4 month rolling doesn't suffer because the GP (RL) will be there to tell you to stop playing golf and get back to work.  To chide you for thinking that you could actually enjoy life and make money too.  To convince you to work harder and ignore your family, because you do, after all, have to make a living.  And OBTW, if you make more money so does he.  Enjoy life man!!
