So, talk to me about AG. Edwards…what do you guys think of the firm, what’s different about them than the rest etc…

Think that compared to Edward Jones they are a better company

Sorry.  I just couldn't help myself.  Actually I have no opionon.

I can't help but laugh looking at how many views this topic has received and the lack of responses. It's as if they were hoping it would be an Ed Jones topic so they could vent and talk trash.

Great company.  Generally less arrogant and proud (not necessarily a bash on you Bulge Bracket NY firm guys/gals).  I think they have great resources.  You can’t even compare them w/ Ed Jones as far as sophistication…they have most, if not all the resources that the bigger boys do…in fact I think the platform is better than Morgan Stanley’s in many way’s.

I haven’t worked there, but they’re well-respected locally and the folks in the office appear to be happy.  I’m sure you’ll find someone here with an ax to grind eventually.  In fact, if you do a search on here, I know different people have discussed the pros and cons before.

done. search feature is a wonderful thing. i have an interview with them today. leaving here pretty soon.

The people i know that work there seem very happy. If I am not mistaken the pay rate is very good and they pay your insurance. Unlike jones. The ones I know have been there a long time.

When competing against them, they seem to have a very good muni and fixed income capability. No proprietary mutual funds also helps them create objectivity in minds of clients…

I work there and wouldn’t imagine working anywhere else!  Home office support is top notch and I love to be able to focus on client needs rather than what my firm thinks I should sell.

So how’d the interview go?  You change firms yet?
