No opinions on that firm.  If I had to name all the investment firms in the country, I never would have thought of them.

Too many damn “Morgans” around.  Morgan Stanley.  JP Morgan.  Morgan Keegan.  Morgan morgan morgan…

Nice small firm. Their research picks were #1 last year and would have been close to the top for 5 yrs except that there is an arbitrary exclusion of firms <1000 brokers. The payout is more than fair for either rookies or vets. Big bond operation. More of the “old time” brokerage feel. How do I know? No, I’m not am employee or a recruiter. Have been through a long due diligence in a recruiting (me) process. I like the firm (they know what business they are in whereas a lot of the “bigs” don’t know who or what they are anymore.)Would you be in a bank or free-standing office? Their platform works for both.

Good quality regional firm.  Reps I know seem happy there, but for those who have been there awhile some have commented that it's not the same before Regents bought them out.  (Banks just can't seem to get it that they need to keep out of the way of their securities operations, can they?).

I assume you're in the south -- if you haven't looked at them yet, talk with Raymond James & Associates also.  Strong regional firm and doesn't have the baggage of being owned by a bank.  Caveat:  I'm with RJ on the independent side, so I have a strong bia.

oops – that’s strong “bias”.
