coming together soon?  Rumors seem to be floating around about an announcement coming Friday about something happening at UBS.

that would be one MF big ass bank

Why would that happen?  Seems like banks of that size are splitting up, not merging. Now selling off a specific division is another possibility.

there is something big coming at UBS on Friday…the continued rape of ML and the advisors coming over!!! another weekend, another 100 or so moving!!

Why would a bank the size of UBS, which is closely watched by it’s government, consider anything with a bank the size of DB? the swiss have pride in their banking system…not going to give any control over to another large bank from another country…

If it is true that UBS has something going on, and that is a big if , It may be a WS/UBS combo.  Just speculation but with BAC/MER and SB/MS both at 20,000 FAs and Wells lack of interest in WS it may be possible.  That way they can pay retention instead of 240% to grow the FA ranks.

Wells could spin off 60% of WS at a distressed price and the rest when the environment improves.  There was wide speculation that Wells needed capital but today they report earnings and claim they don't need capital.  Maybe that is because they found a way to raise $3 bil through a joint venture   Just my guess

From watching all of the recent acquisitions - I don't think I would want to be buying anybody now.  Based on recent acquisitions you can almost be assured your stock will drop down to single digits.
