I got approached about meeting a guy with Allstate corporate about a financial rep job.  Said I would be servicing 3-7 agents.  Did some searching, not sure what he’s referring to.  Does he mean I would be the investment guy for 3-7 regular allstate reps and they would refer clients to me?

Any feedback, experience with this?

  Yes.  Don't do it.  I get calls from them all the time.  I have a friend at Allstate 25 years (P&C side).  He said he has quotas to give the investment guy.  He said it is BS.  He gives him his BS referrals, since he said he doesn't consider them "real" investment advisors. The only caveat would be if you are good and have a great relationship with your P&C agents.  But even then, he said Allstate has gotten so bad over the past 5 years, he doesn't even want to work there anymore.

These look like old post however I was recently approached as well and am looking for anyone currently working as an Allstate Advisor. I have been an independent broker selling life and annuities, and frankly, getting tired of doing it “all” - marketing, prospecting, selling etc. and think it may be a great fit. Any thoughts out there? Thanks

I know a few guys who have done very well with Allstate. They key is to hook in with the right guy. I don’t know details but I do know they both have done well. BTW, I get what you are saying about doing it all. I’m going through the same thing.
