What is a forum?

Plato and his fellow Greek philosophers created the original public forum where individuals could go and discuss important issues and perhaps get feedback that might help one make a more informed decision.
After reading many posts on this Reg Rep forum, I’m finding that there are quite a few very immature individuals out there—names to follow. It seems that many find it beguiling to add some cruel enjoyment to their mundane lives by rendering derogatory remarks that neither enhance the discussion nor give advice.
I think it’s pretty sad that you feel the need to belittle others to make yourselves feel better and even sadder that you do it in some make believe environment you call a forum. I hope none of you have kids because I feel very sorry for any child who is reared by such an arrogant, self-righteous prick.

Whoa now! That’s a little out of line. I disagree with Spiff (quite often), but I think he’s a pretty stand up guy who I think has seldom been derogatory.
As for Borker, Jaxson and buyandhold - I also may disagree with them (although Borker and I are usually on the same page), but think they have been fair and helpful.
Here’s my question to you in all humility: What have you done to contribute to this forum? I believe every one you named has contributed to this forum quite nicely.
At first I thought you were joking. I had a good laugh.
But then I searched and I see you didn’t like what some of us said in your post about leaving Jones before Eval-Grad… All of the guys on your list criticized you. I’m pretty sure all of us are Jones guys.
I think I commented that you would fail because you hadn’t even started to doorknock and were already quitting on the idea. I guess I would add that you will also fail because you can’t take rejection.
Then again, you’ve got to be joking, right? Maybe playing some kind of woe-is-me character?

Next time read Plato before using him as an example. In The Republic, the opening sequence is about two intellectuals having random conversations with ignorant people. They enjoyed making fun of them through intellectual humor.
Lol, are you talking about the same Plato I read in college?
The same Plato who in EVERY dialogue only drew a conclusion after he had brow-beaten the opponent (poor Gorgias) into submission? Socratic method, an extension of the forum, is such a funny concept.

Another note, at 4:46 in the afternoon, two days before IRA deadline, don't you think one's time might be better spent ASKING for the ORDER? ...too thin skinned for this bizI love it when the noobs on here try to talk smack with the vets.
Just so you know, my kids think I'm the greatest dad ever. In fact I have a baseball cap to back it up.
My wife tolerates me, but loves the fact that she's not out flipping burgers or working outside the home to pay the bills.
My clients love me. They're not happy with their portfolios, but I get thank you's from them each and every day.
My region sees me as an asset. I give the other noobs (at least the ones who aren't so arrogant as to have assumed they have this job all figured out before they sign on the dotted line) all the help they need. I'm involved in some civic organizations and very involved in my church. I recycle, volunteer, give blood, and pick up stray kittens on the side of the road (the four legged kind, not the two legged ones - those can kill you). But, despite all of that, I'm not sure I can go on in this world with the knowledge that robanie thinks I'm a self-rightous prick. I find that too hurtful to endure. I think I'll have to kill my screen name now. Wait...robanie is a noob. Never mind. He won't be here in about a year. No harm, no foul. Whew. That was close.robanie,
Wow that hurt my feelings real bad. I do have kids and they think i am the best daddy in the world, just ask your mom.
