What do you think the pros and cons are of starting on a team or starting solo?  Have the opportunity to join a successful team day one or build a business on my own.  Both great firms

Hi Browndog,

It really boils down to how entrepreneurial you are. Joining a team will take a lot of the burden of starting out, having a presence, and operations off your hands. However you will be giving up a lot of control and almost certainly make less in the long run.

Going solo puts all the burden on you. You’ll need to handle building your book (we can help with that at finservMarketing) and you will need to deal with all of the operations stuff on your own. On the plus side, you will be building YOUR business and not someone else’s.

Here’s my question, what is your biggest concern about going solo?

I ask that question because you are already confident about being an advisor. You are not just questioning which model is best for you.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly. I’m happy to help.

Best,

Mike
