Would anyone be willing to sell me access to quizes for the 66 from Training Consultants or STC for a decent price? Honestly I have paid out of pocket to take the 7 and for training materials. I just paid for the 66 and it would be nice to save a little money for these quizzes rather than purchase retail for $100-200.

I actually liked STC for the 7, and am okay with the overload of information if it will prepare me the best. I have the STC 66 manual, but would like access to the Q&A exams, closed book, and progress exams. I would use TC's test material too.

Any advice is also welcome, I have already read through the forums, but am hesitant to rely on out of date posts. If you have access to practice questions and would be willing, please let me know I would greatly appreciate it!

I don't think it is the STC that stinks for the 66. I think everyone learns in a different way. I used Firesolutions, I passed the 7 no problems. The 66 I got a 71% and was crushed. I studied for weeks!!!! My co-worker using the same information through Firesolutions got a 84 and another co-worker at a different branch got a 71 her first time and then an 87 the next. She had mentioned that the second test was a lot easier. I don't think that is going to be for everyone. I don't know whats up with this test, but it is stressing me out. I have all the Firesolutions info if you are interested just message me. No cost at all. Glad to help.

The largest obstacle for being successful on the series 65 and 66 exams is that the NASAA outlines are broad and not very detailed. It can be challenging for some prep providers to adequately cover the topics.

TC is great. Just use the diagnostics to see which sections you can get better on.

I passed the 66 using the STC material. Actually it was not that bad. do the practice test and understand the concepts. STC definitely overprepares you.

One of the aspects of STC that I like is that they have not been sued by FINRA for misappropriating exam questions, unlike Training Consultants.

Hey all any TC questions anywhere???

Yeah ran into a gal yesterday from another office who said the same and at their office they all break the rules and have TC books going around because too many fail using the mandatory Fire for the 66. Fire is horribly frustrating. We are forced to use it. Got an 80 on my 7 but felt I did not pass because the Fire program left me handicapped which I was. I have an 86 fairly open book with no review before submitting average going into Final 9 tomorrow. I passed both these exams 13 years ago with. If you know where to get some TC exam bank questions PLEASE let me know. Never failed a test for work and don't want to start now. Thanks.

Ed Jones to Wells Bank Channel (WBS)

I'm at EJ now in my 3rd year.  I'm in a difficult market for EJ and I'm a true scratch starter.  I'm above expectations, but getting tired of hunting money.  I'm considering going to work at Wells Fargo, who has a huge presence in my town.  The postion would be a bank advisor (WBS) and to me this sounds like a "piece of cake" after being at EJ.  Am I clueless or is the grass really greener?  If you're at WF or at another bank, please give me your thoughts. ...More

New Company set up

Hello, I am currently in the process of setting up my own FA firm. Actually it is a financial service firm including bookkeeping and budgeting services with financial planning as well. My business model is to be a flat fee to review portfolios, make suggestions & assist client with paperwork etc . I do not want to actually manage the investments which I feel allows me to recommend low expense products such as index funds etc.. My clientele will be the small accounts that every other FA would not want....More

Death of the Small Broker-Dealer

Over the past decade, a tremendous amount of pressure has been laid on the shoulders of the small broker-dealers of the securities industry. Like the iconic Willy Loman in Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, these small and/or independent brokerages are allotted a significantly shorter leash than they have been in years past......More
