My anniversary is coming up and I’m curious if anyone knows a range of a support advisor/level three advisor.  I am the first line of contact for existing clients, but I haven’t pulled any clients onboard.  My firm is an RIA, with approximately $400 million AUM.  I saw a publication done by Schwab on RIAs, and it appears that support advisors (no client contact) pull in on average a $64K base.  Does that sound right?

If you do not bring in business I do not see any reason to pay you more than 50K.  That is just my opinion.

That’s likely to vary considerably based on location.  I know support positions here in TX pay a fraction of what they do in NYC or CA.
