Can anyone tell me if there is an official Mentorship Policy?

Can a POA working with a mentor participate in FOG bonus?

What are the rules for applying assets brought in during mentorship period to the POA hurdles? Specifically, are the assets brought to the firm that are friends and family of POA always split with the mentor?

You've been a member here for two years and you're asking about a montorship program? What's up with that?

She said, " I may be wrong, but this short, balding overweight man seems to be happiest when he is typing at the computer. His penis is alarmingly small; his self concept seems tortured and I hope he is saying nice things on the computer.

If there is a formal one I have never seen it.  My official mentor often does not have time simply because of how he runs his business.  I can turn to just about any other advisor in the office though.

You cannot officially participate, but you may be able to make an arrangement if you are working under someone's number.

It all depends on your mentor.  Some give you all the assets and some give back none.  The argument I have heard for not returning the assets is it is the mentor's pay for spending time out of production working with someone.  I do not know how often the assets do not return in some form.

Thanks for answering. It seems odd that there would not be a formal policy, I cannot find one either.

Most of the cases I see, the mentor benefits more than the POA.

Actually there was a mentorship policy, the actually policy itself did not invovle pc splits.  The only thing it really acomplished was that it delayed your production number 3 months, so you would basically have 3 extra months to prospect without your clock ticking.  They just did away with this policy though because to many senior FA’s were using POA’s to get their FOG bonus.  Merrill just changed the policy to were it will now benefit the POA more and the FA less to be a mentor.

Help! Does anyone out there still have a 2007 and/or 2008 POA Handbook? I lost mine and desperately need a copy. I’ll pay for copying and FedEx.
