I am interviewing with Morgan Stanley.  Can anyone fill me in on advantages or disadvantages of this firm?   Thanks!

Listen…the search button can be yr friend . I suggest u type ‘Morgan Stanley’ the read thru. Personally…I have spent hours “researching” threads as old as 2004. I suggest u do the same THEN come back with specific questions.

PM if u have probs!

I did but only found info. about layoffs and training.

My specific questions are: 1) Job security/aware of layoffs, did that include FAs? Why did they occur? 2) Is MS fee based or transaction based 3) Do they sponsor series 7? 4) At this firm, are you confined to a specific zip code or can you venture out into other cities and possibly states?   Thanks,

cerpen:

They were, what, three years ago now? Perhaps two, right off the top of my head I can't be sure. Yes, they included underperforming brokers. Do good clean business and you should be just fine.
2) Is MS fee based or transaction based
yes
3) Do they sponsor series 7?
Yes, others here can tell you more about the training program.
4) At this firm, are you confined to a specific zip code or can you venture out into other cities and possibly states?
Wherever you'd like.
