Hi,

Not sure if this is the correct forum to ask this question…

Is there a resource available to find historical prices for a stock that is no longer traded?
The ticker symbol is now in use by another company.

Any help or hints would be appreciated

Thanks

The Prophet

Are you a financial advisor?  Most firms have access to historical data.

Works fine for historical prices for companies that are currently trading.

This particular company is now longer in business and another company has assumed its ticker symbol

You need to contact the company or the transfer agent for the company that has taken over.

I just had to do this for cost basis information for a bank that was purchased by another bank and the client received cash in lieu of  new stock.  They only had records going back to 1985 and some stock was purchased before that. Neither the old bank or the new bank trades on the stock exchange.  Plus we had stock dividends that had been issued over the years.

Fun times during tax season.
